Success of my Administration is built on God – Gov. Emmanuel

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has stated that his administration will continue to recognize God in its affairs, saying since the current administration came on board in May 2015, God has been the foundation  which the government derives its strength.

Speaking, today Sunday 23, October 2016 at the Presbyterian  Church of Nigeria, Mbiatok Itam in Itu Local Government Area during the October Edition of Akwa Ibom Youth Prayer Conference, the Governor who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Technical Matters and Due Process, Mr. Ufot Ebong, noted that it was in recognition of the potency of prayers that the Governor declared a three days fasting for the State shortly after assumption of office on May 29, 2015, maintaining that the state was enjoying the benefits of having a God fearing leader at the helm of affairs.

He used the opportunity to charge the youths of the State to key into the AKEES programme initiated by his administration, explaining that it is aimed at empowering their economic base. The governor advised youths to shun acts inimical to the growth of the society.

In his Speech, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia said the monthly prayer summit which commenced in August has witnessed tremendous testimonies from youths across the state, and thanked governor Udom Emmanuel for giving him an opportunity to serve in his government. He enjoined youths of the State to embrace the prayer summit, and continue interceding for the good of the land.

In their goodwill messages, immediate past Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Akan Okon,  Sen.  Anietie Okon , the lawmaker representing  Itu in the  House of Assembly,  Hon.  Idongesit  Ituen, Transition Chairman, Itu Local Government Area, among others lauded  Mr. Iwua Udofia for the foresight in organizing the monthly prayer summit that brings youths from across the state to gather and intercede for the state.

The former Finance Commissioner, Akan Okon urged the people of the state not to relent in their support for the government of the day. He applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for prudent management of state resources. He particularly commended the governor for prompt payment of workers salary despite the economic challenges.

The prayer meeting which had as its theme “Sounds of Abundance’’, featured praise and worship, prayer of intercession, exhortation  among others.

Dignitaries in attendance at the prayer summit were, the former SSG, Obonganwan Grace Ekong, former House of Assembly member for Itu,  Dr. Ekaette Ebong Okon, immediate past  Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Nathan Ekaette.  Also present were, aides to the Governor including, the Special Assistance on Branding and Marketing, Mr. Ime Uwah,  SA on ICT, Engr. Solomon Eyo, SA on Student Matters, Comrade  Aquilla Otobong  Akpan, SA on Social Re-Orientation, Mr. Ekpeno Gold,  SA on Trade Matters, Mr. Idorenyin  Raphael, SA on Entertainment, David  Seargent, SA, Project Monitoring, Godfada Uko, Hon. Enobong,  Evang. Ubong Ituen, State Working Committee of the Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus, among others.
